Brazil is scheduled to play three friendly matches against Iran's national futsal squad at Tehran's 12,000-seater Azadi complex.

According to the Iranian Futsal Commission, the friendly matches will be held on three consecutive days September 21, 22 and 23.

Iran, coached by Hossein Shams, has played in five editions of Fifa Futsal World Championships reaching the semifinals in their first appearance in 1992.They also reached the finals of 2009 Grand Prix de Futsal known as Futsal Mini-World Cup in Brazil.

Brazil currently leads the Futsal National Teams World Ranking while Iran has recently dropped two steps back to the sixth place after it lost 7-1 to the Brazilians at the 2009 Grand Prix de Futsal final at the Newton de Faria Stadium.

Iran, the nine time champions in Asian Futsal Championship, finished as the runner-up in the 2008 Grand Prix de Futsal after it was defeated by the hosts Brazil.
