The Qantas Futsalroos will complete its preparations for the AFC Futsal Championships next month, with a one-off international match against New Zealand on Saturday 3rd May at Dural Leisure Centre in Sydney.

The team has just returned from a three-game series in China, which saw the team draw one and lose two to their hosts, so a win over New Zealand will be vitally important leading into the start of the AFC tournament, which is being played in Thailand from May 11-18.

The match against New Zealand will kick-off at 6.00pm, with entry free.

Australia has a tough assignment at the AFC Futsal Championships, being grouped with Japan, Turkmenistan and Chinese Taipei. The top-four teams from the tournament will qualify for the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup which will be held in Brazil in October.

To achieve this Australia will need to record their best ever finish at the AFC Futsal Championships, which was a quarter final berth last year.
