Iran's national futsal team is scheduled to play against China in a 4-nation futsal tournament to be held in the capital Tehran.

The Iranian squad will face China in its first match of the event at 7:00 pm local time on August 9.

Iran will meet Thailand and Hungary on August 10 and 11 respectively.

The three-day competition will be held at Tehran's 12,000-seater Azadi Stadium.

Iran's national futsal team will then play two friendly games against world champion Spain on August 19 and 20 to prepare for the Futsal World Cup.

Iran's Football Federation (IFF) announced its readiness to host the Futsal World Cup in Tehran last May.

Iran won the 10th Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Championship in Bangkok earlier this year.

Iran will be representing Asia along with Thailand, Japan and China at the FIFA Futsal World Cup in Brazil in October 2008.
