 VietNamNet Bridge - The second Ho Chi Minh City Open Futsal (Indoor Football) Championship 2008, organised by the municipal Football Federation, will take place on December 12-14 at Phu Tho Sports Hall. The event will attract three foreign Futsal clubs, including JTS (Japan), Bangkok (Thailand) and Johor (Malaysia). The Thai Son Nam Club will represent the host country, Vietnam, to take part in the championship.

VietNamNet Bridge - The second Ho Chi Minh City Open Futsal (Indoor Football) Championship 2008, organised by the municipal Football Federation, will take place on December 12-14 at Phu Tho Sports Hall.
The event will attract three foreign Futsal clubs, including JTS (Japan), Bangkok (Thailand) and Johor (Malaysia). The Thai Son Nam Club will represent the host country, Vietnam, to take part in the championship.
The four clubs will compete in a round robin format. The championship winner will receive a prize worth US$5,000 and the second-best club will be granted US$3,000.
At the press conference on December 4, the organsing board said the clubs from Japan, Malaysia and Thailand are well-known in those countries with high-ranking players. To get ready for the championship, the Thai Son Nam club has been supplemented with some national athletes and foreign players from Thailand.
The HCM City Football Federation will also register with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to organize the futsal championship annually, drawing the participation of strong regional and continental teams.
The first HCM City Open Futsal Championship was held in 2007, attended by two football teams from the host country, Vietnam, and another two from Thailand.
