10 teams to compete at National Futsal Tournament 2009

Nhan Dan - The National Futsal Tournament 2009 is scheduled to be held at the Phu Tho Gymnasium in Ho Chi Minh City from February 21-28, the Vietnam Football Federation has recently announced.

The event attracts 10 teams including V.Sport, Dat Lanh, Maseco, Pham Gia Automobile from Ho Chi Minh City, Hoang Thu from Da Nang, Khanh Tan from Gia Lai, Sauna from Khanh Hoa, Northern Thai Son, Southern Thai Son and Vietcombank from Quang Ngai.

Ten teams will be divided into two groups of A and B and compete on a round robin basis to select two top teams and two runners-up qualified for the semifinals. The winners will receive a Cup, gold medals and a prize worth VND 25 million.

The tournament is expected to be a good occasion to select outstanding players for the national team preparing for big events this year such as the Asian and the Southeast Asian Futsal Qualifying Round, the Asian Indoor Games 3 and Sea Games 25.
