National futsal team meets in City

The national futsal (indoor football) team convened at the HCM City-based Thanh Long Sports Centre on Wednesday to prepare for the Southeast Asian Futsal Championships, to be hosted by Viet Nam on June 8-14.

The team will be coached by Thailand’s Piemkum Pattaya. In May, the team will fly to Thailand to train and play four friendly matches.

At the tournament, the hosts will play in group B alongside the Philippines, Brunei and East Timor. They are expected to enter the semi-finals.
