The USA opened Group B of the 2008 CONCACAF Futsal Championship with a 5:3 victory over Haiti at the Domo Polideportivo in Guatemala City, Guatemala on Tuesday

6/3/2008 - The USA opened Group B of the 2008 CONCACAF Futsal Championship with a 5:3 victory over Haiti at the Domo Polideportivo in Guatemala City, Guatemala on Tuesday.
After Edouard Voltaire gave Haiti the lead in the third minute, the USA answered with goals by Denison Cabral (4th), Sandre Naumoski (10th) and Jamar Beasley (16th) to take a 3:1 advantage going into halftime.
Voltaire scored his second in the 25th minute, but Carlos Farias added the USA’s fourth goal in the 34th minute. Eliacin Rigarden’s goal for Haiti in the 35th minute made it 4:3, but Matthew Stewart closed out the scoring for the USA with two minutes remaining.
In an earlier encounter, goals by Alquis Alvarado (3rd), Apolinar Galvez (5th), Gilberto Rangel (10th) and Augusto Harrison (16th) gave Panama 4:0 lead in the first half.
After Luis Paniaga got Costa Rica on the board just before halftime, the Ticos scored five consecutive times to take a 6:4 lead.
The Canaleros tied the encounter with goals from Miguel Lasso (36th) and Galvez (37th) for the 6:6 final score.
The 2008 CONCACAF Futsal Championship continues on Tuesday evening with Group A at the Domo Polideportivo when Cuba meet Mexico and Guatemala hosts Trinidad & Tobago.
