Serbian side KMF Ekonomac Kragujevac pipped PA Nova Gliwice to reach the UEFA Futsal Cup Elite round along with Luparense Calcio A5 as Main round Group 2 concluded on Sunday.
Gliwice pipped
With two victories to their name, the Italian side were already through but Kragujevac had to overhaul a three-point deficit to Gliwice, with who they drew on Matchday 1. Ekonomac kept their end of the bargain by winning 5-2 against FK Nikars Riga, meaning they would progress with on goal difference with a Gliwice defeat, but the Polish mini-tournament hosts led at half-time against Luparense through B?a?ej Korczy?ski. However, after the break Rogerio De Oliveira, Jairo Manoel and Marcelo Barro put Luparense in control. Przemyslaw Dewucki pulled one back, but Jairo Manoel scored two more for a hat-trick either side of a Adelmo Alexandre Pereira goal in a 6-2 win.
Chrudim kick-off
Luparense and Kragujevac join top seeds MFK Viz-Sinara Ekaterinburg, MFK Dinamo Moskva, Interviú FS and Kairat Almaty in the Elite round draw on 19 September with ten further berths to be won in the remaining five Main round mini-tournaments. Group 5 gets underway on Monday in the Czech Republic with hosts FK Era-Pack Chrudim playing against Israel's Hapoel Ironi Rishon Lezion and competition ever-presents Iberia 2003 Tbilisi up against Preliminary round qualifiers Nautara Kaunas.
