Serbia secured their first wins since qualifying for next month's UEFA European Futsal Championship with two friendly victories in FYR Macedonia.
Comfortable win
In June, Serbia drew and lost at home to Italy, but they prevailed 6-1 in Saturday's first match in Kumanovo, in front of 4,000 spectators, and it was 2-1 on Sunday in Veles, despite the absence for both games of Marko Peri? due to club duties in Russia. In the opener Mladen Koci? and Milan Raki? scored in the first three minutes for Serbia against opponents they beat 3-2 in qualifying in March and Vidan Bojovi?, Koci? and Aleksandar Tomin made it 5-0 early in the second half. Georgi Hristov, capped 48 times for FYR Macedonia at football, pulled one back on his international futsal debut but Jovan Djordjevi? made it six for Serbia in the dying seconds.
Raj?evi? clincher
The next day Raki? gave Serbia a 12th-minute lead, to ensure he struck in all three of his nation's games with FYR Macedonia this year and although another player on target in the qualifier, Kire Georgiev, equalised early in the second half, Slobodan Raj?evi? claimed the winner. Serbia continue their build-up to the finals in Hungary with games against Belgium and Belarus in a tournament in Antwerp on 28 and 29 December and their Group C campaign in Budapest starts on 22 January against Slovenia, with Russia to come.
